We investigate changes in present day Norway as and when they take place. We evaluate and explain the outcome of major, complex events – e.g. when politicians adopt health or administrative reforms.
We conduct research on volunteering and the social consequences of climate changes, and we investigate absence from sixth form colleges, social entrepreneurship, migration, integration and urbanisation.
We deliver the basic knowledge required for when politicians and the authorities make decisions about many key social issues.
We also conduct research on electoral systems and election participation, innovation in the public sector, health and welfare services, the labour and welfare sector and the cultural affairs sector.
We contribute towards documenting and developing the history of Norwegian society, both today and for future generations.
